Billie,Kuba,Gin

I was talking to my boss today about the great Billie Holiday. We started talking about her great music and how a white boy from Texas born almost in the eighties can have such love for her music.

So tonight I sat down put on Billie, grabbed my bottle of Hendricks gin. I started with “east of the sun”. I just sat and listened. After it finished I remembered I was going to have a cigar as well. I choose an acid kuba kuba, a regular selection among the Division Theory crowd.
The gin goes down with cool juniper up front, which all gin should have and focus on. This gin also uses rose petals and cucumbers in its set of botanicals. I don’t taste any rose petals. I do get the cucumbers. It pairs nicely with the floral incense of the kuba kuba.

Please listen to Billie Holiday, you owe it to yourself.
Hendricks – it is one of the best gins I have ever had.
Acid Kuba Kuba – one of my staples. not an everyday cigar, but Acids are not supposed to be. Try it and tell cigar snobs to go to hell and smoke’em up Johnny.

Lets keep it simple

Again I sit down to enjoy a cigar. Well to be more specific a cao italia. Also a bit of of tequila. Espolone repasado to be more to the point. I'm outside at the garage bar watching sg1 season 10 as well( piss off I'm a sci-fi dork). I can't help but notice that tequila and cigar pairing has always eluded myself .
this peticular combo I am trying works well. I have always enjoyed spice with cigars.Tequila brings it out in my cao italia.

I am now down to the nub of this cigar and out of tequila, I must say I'm happy with the three forms of entertainment tonight.

cao italia and espolone  -good combo

sg1 season 10 - watch it and like it

Risk and beer

So we gather for a night of risk and beer. Since losing a game of poker last time, Erik is in charge of bring the beer. He stops by the store on the way, a new place with what Erik hopes to be a wonderful selection. But alas four doors of bud light and one for real beer. With little options he goes for the shiner 101. Not a bad choice in the situation.

So the board is set beer poured and the game of global domination is in motion. The shiner is good. Nothing to get super excited about but good. After a few hours am epic battle for Australia will decide the fate of the planet. Overcome by powerful forces, Erik accepts defeat He now must bring a six pack for next time. Maybe he will have better luck with darts and store selection. Good night with a good friend.

rocky sungrown and port

I sit down and turn on some Joe Strummer.  By the time “coma girl” is finishing up, I get the Rock Patel 60 Sungrown lit and going. This is a massive smoke with spice that requires some port. So I pour a glass of Smith Woodhouse LBV. “Get down Moses” is about at the halfway point. I sit back down, and enjoy a great cigar, great port and one of the best songwriters to grace a microphone. I let the next hour pass with thoughts and music. The sweet, rich port finds it self pouring out of the bottle faster than it should. The Patel turns to ash, the evening passes to fast. "Silver and Gold" ends and i walk back inside.

I recommend all three to everyone.
